BLUE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION NAMED TITLE SPONSOR OF
ANNUAL COLORADO KORN FERRY TOUR EVENT
THE BLUE CHAMPIONSHIP WELCOMES HNS SPORTS GROUP
AS NEW TOURNAMENT OPERATOR
BERTHOUD, Colo. – Tournament officials announced today that Blue Federal Credit Union, celebrating more than 75 years of service and community impact, is the new title sponsor of the annual Korn Ferry Tour event in Berthoud, Colorado.
The name of the event is now The Blue Championship, with the eighth playing of the tournament taking place the week of July 6-12, 2026 at TPC Colorado.
“For more than 75 years, Blue Federal Credit Union has believed in the power of community and possibility,” Stephanie Propps, Chief Executive Officer, said. “Our title sponsorship of The Blue Championship is a natural extension of who we are — rooted here, invested here, and committed to helping people and communities thrive. This tournament represents more than great golf; it’s about connection, opportunity, and giving back in meaningful ways."
Founded in 1951 as Warren Federal Credit Union on F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Blue Federal Credit Union was built on service from day one. What started as a way to support those who serve has grown into something bigger—a lifelong commitment to people, possibilities and community. Today, Blue proudly serves more than 140,000 members worldwide. Along the way, they’ve grown thoughtfully, welcoming Community Financial Credit Union in 2016 and Aventa Credit Union in 2024. Each merger strengthened their reach while staying true to who they are—honoring their Air Force heritage, Rocky Mountain roots and belief that people deserve a financial partner who truly shows up. With more than two dozen branches across Colorado and Wyoming and assets exceeding $2 billion, Blue continues to invest where it matters most: in their members and the communities they call home. They believe strong communities are built through authentic relationships, local partnerships, and a shared commitment to helping one another move forward.
At Blue, growth isn’t about getting bigger—it’s about going further. Further in support. Further in connection. Further in helping people realize what’s possible. They’re proud to stand alongside their communities, championing dreams, strengthening local impact and building a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Additionally, officials from the Korn Ferry Tour and Colorado Golf Charities announced today The Blue Championship is now operated by HNS Sports Group, an Ohio-based event management LLC specializing in golf. HNS Sports Group brings more than 150 years of collective experience to the event, a player favorite on the Korn Ferry Tour previously recognized as the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour Tournament of the Year.
The Blue Championship will be one of the premier regular season events on the Korn Ferry Tour and will feature a purse of $1 million. The tournament field will include 156 players competing over 72 holes of stroke play, with a cut to the top 65 players and ties after 36 holes. Upon conclusion of the 25-event season, the top 20 players from the 2026 Korn Ferry Tour Points List will earn PGA TOUR membership for the 2027 season.
Past participants of The Blue Championship include reigning champion Neal Shipley and PGA TOUR winners Austin Eckroat, Chris Gotterup, Ben Griffin, Aldrich Potgieter, Scottie Scheffler, Karl Vilips, and Will Zalatoris, who won the 2020 event.
“We are excited to watch our tournament continue to elevate and evolve,” said Jon Turner, Director of Colorado Golf Charities, Inc. “We couldn’t be happier to have Blue step into the title position and teaming up with HNS Sports Group on the operations side is the cherry on top. It’s going to be the best yet.”
"We are thrilled to expand our existing partnership with Blue Federal Credit Union, as well as HNS Sports Group, which operates multiple events on the Korn Ferry Tour, including the last two recipients of our Korn Ferry Tour Tournament of the Year award," said Alex Baldwin, President, Korn Ferry Tour. "The Blue Championship has been a highly-regarded event among our membership and staff since its inception in 2019, and deepening our partnerships with Blue Federal Credit Union and HNS sets up this tournament for continued elevation and growth."

Whether through volunteering, purchasing tickets or becoming a sponsor, there is really something for everyone. Thanks to the unwavering support of Blue Federal Credit Union and the Little Thompson Valley region, the tournament is well positioned for success as a best-in-class Korn Ferry Tour stop, including a positive impact on charitable causes in Colorado.”
The Blue Championship will continue to operate all event financials through Colorado Golf Charities, a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity. This arrangement ensures net proceeds from the tournament are donated to charitable organizations and reflects HNS’ intent to ensure The Blue Championship continues as a meaningful and impactful part of the community.
